Pickersgill Reef
SKU: PCC0986OB
Pickersgill Reef was encountered by James Cook’s HMS Endeavour on June 11, 1770 when it just avoided hitting the reef. Unfortunately some 6 hours later the Endeavour ran aground on another reef. The crew had to drop six cannons and ballast to lighten the ship and refloat it. The reef was initially named Endeavour Rocks by Cook, and the six cannons were later found underwater.
